About

Our Story

In 2017, founder Dylan Paskett started the local landscape company Prime Landscapes and did what every landscape company does in the winter to stay busy, snow removal. Every storm his plow trucks and equipment would be busy clearing commercial accounts and the residential ones would be left waiting until they were done to be serviced, once they were finally able to service them he found that the plow trucks would struggle to back drag driveways in large snow falls, the plows would cause turf damage, and they would leave huge snow banks sometimes making backing out of a driveway dangerous and knew there had to be a better way to service his residential customers. It turns out that in Quebec, entrepreneurs are using agricultural tractors with a special attachment known as an inverted snowblower. This business model is so effective that it’s used to clear upwards of 80% of all residential driveways in the province! Each of these tractors will service between 100-200 driveways per route, completing a pass in no more than 5 hours so that follow-up runs can be completed during the day on large events. Each driveway is marked with two posts on either side to avoid lawn damage and to help the operator identify their properties.

Since each tractor is able to effectively serve such a significant number of driveways in a short time (30 secs-2 minutes a visit), they’re able to offer a very affordable flat rate for the entire winter. When Dylan began learning about this business model, something just clicked. He realized that the level of snow service that homeowners in Duluth were receiving was woefully lacking. Any competitor he spoke to saw driveways as a headache rather than an opportunity, they would complain about the hassle of driveways but offered no real solution for their customers. These contractors would work all night servicing their commercial properties and then come to clear the driveways when their customers had already left for work, not a very customer-centric model. Rather than follow in the footsteps of his unimaginative peers, Dylan saw the opportunity to combine his passion for equipment with the need for a higher level of residential snow service in Duluth and set out on changing the way things were done.

WHY

RELIABLE

Our tractors drive over any amount of snow, even if the city plows haven’t made a pass. This means we’ll always make it to your driveway, no matter the condition. Companies using pickup trucks and plows (or worse yet pickup trucks pulling trailers with small snow removal machines), sometimes simply can’t make it through big drifts or big snowfalls to your driveway, meaning you might be stuck….

QUICK

Our powerful tractors and inverted snowblowers back into your driveway and blow snow (80-92” at a time) as they driveway forward. Whether it’s 1”, 2”, or 12” of snow, our hard-working machinery doesn’t care – it’s purpose built for the job. We aim to service you and your neighbors in a very short window of time. Companies using plow trucks and small machines measure job time in minutes. Duluth Snow measures job time in seconds.

PRECISE

Our tractors and inverted blowers don’t just blow the snow – they place it precisely where it needs to be, planning ahead for a long, hard season, and using the space available. Small machines and truck plows just can’t do that. Our machinery won’t cause damage to your driveway or lawn – that’s right, lawn damage from truck plows pushing snow into your front yard. Trust us, there’s nothing more discouraging than seeing plow damage on beautiful Duluth front lawns come spring.
